The 14-day trial starts when the account is created. No credit card is asked for, and there is nothing to cancel at the end.
Name it, choose the capture mode and the print template, then start the booth in kiosk mode. From there everything can run with no connection.

No, the booth runs on Windows only. There is an Android mobile app to run your booths remotely — start, pause, stop an event and follow the activity — but it does not replace the booth.
